Dental Implants That Look, Feel, and Function Like Real Teeth
Interested in Dental Implants? You’ve come to the right place! Bayside Family Dental can help you get the perfect implant.
Missing teeth can affect more than your smile. They can make eating harder, change how you speak, and even impact your confidence. At Bayside Family Dental, we offer dental implants as a long-term solution designed to restore both function and appearance.
Dental implants replace the entire tooth structure, not just what you see above the gum line. The result is a strong, stable replacement that looks natural and lets you eat, speak, and smile without worry.
Whether you’re missing a single tooth or multiple teeth, implants can help prevent bone loss, keep nearby teeth from shifting, and give you a result that feels secure.
Our team takes the time to assess your needs, explain your options clearly, and plan treatment with comfort and longevity in mind.
What are Dental Implants?
A dental Implant is a connection in the jawbone that anchors a dental prosthesis, such as a crown, bridge, or denture. The basis of a dental implant is a biological process called Osseointegration, which is the bonding of the implant to the bone using materials such as Titanium.
The general process is as follows:
- The implant fitting is located and fixed to the area required.
- The dental Prosthesis is then fitted into the Implant.
Healing time can be variable in all cases and will determine how quickly the dental prosthesis can be fixed into place.
Dental Implant Surgical Procedure
The basic implant surgical procedure is as follows:
- Locate the area with a single missing tooth
- An incision is made across the gingiva, and the flap of tissue is reflected to show the bone of the jaw.
- Once the bone is exposed, a series of drills creates and gradually enlarges a site (called an osteotomy) for the implant to be placed.
- The implant fixture is turned into the osteotomy. Ideally, it is completely covered by bone and has no movement within the bone.
- A healing abutment is attached to the implant fixture, and the flap of gingiva is sutured around the healing abutment.
- A period of time for recovery is given for gum healing
- A fixed implant is fitted and adjusted to suit.
Sleep dentistry services are available at the practice for implant treatment if needed. This makes your treatment more comfortable.
